He advises multinational and domestic companies in the telecommunication, semiconductor and medical device manufacturing industries, solving intellectual property-related disputes involving patent infringement, invalidation, trade secret litigation and IP due diligence.

Bob previously worked at the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) as a patent examiner and an adjunct examiner for re-examination for eight years. He then joined Hankun Law offices and Kanxin Partners as an IP litigator.

Patent Infringement and Patent Invalidation

  • a world-leading smart device manufacturer in patent infringement lawsuits against a non-practicing entity (NPE) before the Beijing Higher People's Court and CNIPA, and helped the client to reach a favourable settlement
  • a world-leading smart device manufacturer in a patent infringement lawsuit regarding a declared 3GPP standard essential patent (SEP), and successfully invalidated the patent and won the judicial review, in which the invalidation of the patent directly led to dismissal of the infringement case
  • Gorbel in a patent dispute of lifting products, which was recognized as one of the Top 10 Patent Administrative Protection Cases in Beijing in 2016
  • YouBao in the MINI KTV patent infringement case with seeking for more than 160 million RMB damages, and successfully invalidated the patent-in-suit by using public evidence in Internet
  • CRCC to deal with the patent infringement lawsuit regarding railway equipment initiated by Linsinger, and successfully forced the plaintiff to reconcile with the client and revoked the lawsuit by invalidating the patent-in-suit

  • SoHu in patent infringement actions filed by a main competitor regarding streaming media technologies. Successfully invalidated all asserted patents
